Yes! My older brother *did* e-mail me back after I responded to his
first e-mail. I was holding my breath about it :-) He talked a little
bit about his interest in the Civil War and any of our ancestors who
fought in it (Our George Sawyer fought w/the Camden Grays in NC, and I
think one of our Cheatham relations might have been in it.). He added a
little funny at the bottom of the letter - asked me if I'd heard from
"Mr. Big," lately. When we were little, he used to get on the extension
upstairs and call me. Then he'd say, "This is Mr. Big. I'm going to get
you." - typical brother stuff! And in the subject line he put: "to my
little sister." I thought that was pretty nice. I hope we're able to
continue this way. Also, a friend of mine on another list told me how
Mom (who doesn't own a computer) can get on the internet via the library
and e-mail me (and receive e-mail from me) via Hotmail. Pretty neat!
Today I just got a free homepage at GeoCities, too, so I can post our
genealogy, but I don't know the first thing about constructing a
homepage. It's going to take me a long time. I put out a plea to my
brother and to a friend for help.
Haven't heard from my little brother this week. I hope he's doing
alright.
And this morning I sent out a family picture (Tom, me, and the kids) to
Carla to scan. I hope I'm not making a mistake posting it on the
internet, but lots of people put their pictures up there, so.... Tom
won't be all that thrilled about the pictures of him and the kids going
up, I think, but it's only on that one site....
