I liked that Jo.
This morning, when leaving from my Dr. Visit, a girl behind one of
the counters gave me a pretty smile, and I thought to myself,
"I wish I could do that." It made me feel good (never mind that she
was pretty girl.) I thought too, how it doesn't come naturally for
me to smile at strangers, but I wished it did.
Once, a few years ago, I was walking on campus here, and I chanced
to cross paths with a beautiful black girl who naturally gave me a
stunning smile. My impulse was to stop her and thank her. Her smile
was so free and uplifting. I didn't, but I wish I did--people who can
smile
are gifts to the rest of us.

Thanks for the smile, Jo! Don't ever let us grouches infringe on your
nature!

Subject: [MOL] "thoughts for today"
Hi There Everybody,
:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
Can you tell, my "thoughts for today" are about smiles. Here they are:
The day began with dismal doubt,
A stubborn thing to put to rout;
But all my worries flew away
When someone smiled at me today.
A smile makes a great gift for giving. It doesn't cost
anything, and one size fits all.
I know some days it takes a little more effort to smile, OK, a LOT more
effort, to smile than on other days. But you know what? it's always
worth it. It's just another one of those choices I'm always talking
about. Not that I always make the right choice, mind you. Sometimes it
takes someone else smiling at me to get me to smile. It is amazing what
you can do for someone with just a smile.
I know you can't see me right now, but I am smiling, and I'd like to
pass one along to each and eyery one of you. If you don't think you
need it right now, just save it for when you don't have one of your own.
God Bless,
Jo
