Hi Everyone,

It has been a long time since I have posted my "thoughts for today." I
will try to post them as often as I can, but I do not promise that it
will be every day like it used to be. For now, it will be more like a
couple of times a week. Anyway, with Summer being in full swing, the
thought of the "lazy, hazy, crazy days of Summer" came to me (with
"lazy" being the operative word here). So, with that in mind, here are
my "thoughts for today."

The lazy man aims at nothing and generally hits it.

The lazier a man is, the more he is going to do tomorrow.

Now, make sure you don't get resting confused with laziness. We all
need rest (not just sleep) on a regular basis. It helps us keep our
sanity, prevent burnout, rejuvenate our energy, and basically does our
mind, soul, and body good. It took me a long time to learn that. Where
we get into trouble is when we extend our rest beyond what we need and
cross the line over into laziness, which can be easy to do, and often
times tempting. Well, enough said for this time. Talk to you soon.

God bless,
Jo

Hi All,

Didn't think I'd be back so soon did ya? Well, here I am with my
"thoughts for today."

A lot can be said about prayer, and I will go into more of that at
another time, but for today I thought I'd pass along a couple of unique
prayers for my "thoughts for today."

Dear Lord, so far today I have done all right. I have not
gossiped, lost my temper, been greedy, grumpy, nasty, selfish,
or over indulgent. I am thankful for that. But in a few
minutes, Lord, I am going to get out of bed. And from then on,
I am going to need a lot more help! Amen.

Dear God, please help me to admit it when I'm wrong, and
please, dear God, make me easier to live with when I am right.
        Amen.

Now there's a couple of prayers I'm going to add to my prayer book.
There are days that I certainly need them. (and no additional comments
necessary from anyone else either. :-) )

Bye for now.
God bless,
Jo

Good Morning All,

What wonders never cease---I'm back again!
I've come to bring you my "thoughts for today." This time they are
about life; well, actually, our response to what life brings us. So
here they are:

Life has a way of coloring your way of living---but
it's you who chooses the colors.

To find happiness you must be willing to ignore what life owes
you and think about what you owe life.

Both of these thoughts remind me that no matter what life dishes out, it
is ME who decides how it's going to affect me. And when I spend what
could have been productive or quality time, and instead I use it on
sel-pity, I find it zaps my energy and wastes the precious time in my
life. When I'm so busy thinking about "poor me," I don't have the time
or energy to think about how I can be helping someone else. It's easy
to fall into that trap when things don't go the way we want them to.
But just remember, we ALWAYS have a choice on what our atitude is going
to be for that day REGARDLESS of what's going on in our life at the
time. We may not be able to keep thoughts from coming into our heads,
but we sure have a choice on which ones will stay!!!

The reason I know all this is because I've learned it at the school of
experience, you know, "Been There, Done That" University. And you would
think that once you know it, you know it. NOT! At least not with me.
I find myself back at that school taking a refresher course once again.
Oh, well, maybe one day it will stick for good. :)

Well, that's enough "life application" for one day. Thanks for
listening.

Love You All,
Jo
