That is a nice letter indeed. Must have taken a lot of courage for him to
write it. I never hear from my brother either. Like you, I thought he
just didn't care and is very self-absorbed. Maybe my brother's lack of
communication is due to the same reasons as your brother's. We grew up in
an alcoholic home as well. The only time I hear from my brother is when he
wants to gloat about something and tell me how well he is doing. I always
suspect an ulterior motive. Best of luck.
