[MOL] Irish elves

Dear Lillian--
I will be sure to let you and everyone know how my sister makes out Monday
after seeing her dr. She could have found out the results on this past
Thursday of her last test which was done this past Monday. But she chose
to wait till Monday at dr's. appt. This last test she had done was to
check the lymph nodes up in the neck area to see if has spread there from
the paraaorta node where they did find cancer cells. The dr. had
previously talked of getting her into clinical trials. I am assuming
treatment options will be discussed at this appt. on Monday. I would think
they would want to start some sort of treatment some time soon since she is
in stage IIIC of uterine cancer.
Our parents have been going to the dr. with her. Her two grown children I
am sure will also want to go. I went out and got her a small tape recorder
for her to use when speaking with the dr. I hope she chooses to use it.
Right now she is in the mind-set that she is going to beat this, which is
great. But I am afraid that when the dr. begins talking about the results
of her tests and the course of treatment, it will suddenly become all so
real to her that I don't know how she will react. I will be doing a lot of
praying between now and then, hoping that she will get decent reports from
the dr. and that she will be able to cope with it all o.k. This cancer
business sure boggles the mind.

Jean--
Am so glad to hear your brother has gotten in touch with you after so many
years. Isn't the internet great for connecting with loved ones of our past
and present? I have also just recently got reconnected with someone who
was my best friend all during our school years. I have seen her once in 25
years since we graduated. And now we are just beginning to converse on the
internet. We need more of this type of technology that brings people
together instead of the usual which seems to distance people and personal
contact.

Hope everyone is having an enjoyable weekend----Cindy H.
