My first dog was mostly a black lab too...it was a stray that Mom let me
keep.
It was the only dog I allowed myself to become attached to--when he
dissappeared I cried a long time.

We'd like to have a dog, but now we live in town and don't quite feel up to
the problems of keeping an animal in town.  Sorry to hear about your dogs
getting hit by tick fever--I never heard of that before--is that some kind
of
a virus?
