Hi all!
Gina got down here at about 5:45 p.m. to go to chemo with me tomorrow.
Unfortunately I received a call from Dr. Fowler's office at 5:00 about my
blood counts being too low. So I can't go to chemo tomorrow. It has now
been rescheduled for next Tuesday. What a bummer!
I halfway expected the delay though. When I had the dressing over my
catheter changed this morning at Smith Clinic (when they also drew
blood), there was some drainage from the catheter sight and it was a
little pink around the sight. I worried that would be a drain on my
white blood cells and I guess it was. I'm going to go to Smith Clinic
one or two more times this week to have my dressing changed (usually I
just get it changed once a week). That should help the situation.
I'm sure my white blood count will be fine next Tuesday. But now I'm
worried that my final chemo will be delayed too. Because of this delay,
my last treatment is pushed out until August 18. I just hope it doesn't
get pushed out to August 25 when the time comes. Oh, well, there's not
much I can do about the blood counts - whatever will be, will be!
Gina's going to call her work in the morning to see what they want her to
do. She can't miss work next week because of stuff planned. So Mom &
Dad will be down for my chemo next week.
We got lots of rain, lightening and thunder last night. Today it was
very hot and humid.
Linda T. - please let Marilyn know that my chemo is delayed.
Love,
Annie
