RE: [MOL] Just misc. - songs - Jean, you're a deadhead!

Jean,

My sister and I took our daughters to the Monkees concert when they were here in Los Angeles
a few months ago. (My 14 yr old niece and my 11 yrs old daughter became big fans from watching
them on "Nick at Nite"). It was so much fun and a special memory for all of us!

I've been to one Grateful Dead concert 2 years ago in Las Vegas just before Jerry Garcia passed away.
I've always felt I was a hippie at heart and I felt I was "home again". So were you there too, my fellow
deadhead?

I'm also a fan of Joni Mitchell! Also, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Neil Young, Simon & Garfunkel, Carol King,
Janis Joplin, Doors, Beatles...

Yours,
Liz Gioia

Jean,

Judy Garland is my favorite. I have a tape and on it is the song she did in
the Broadway Musical of 1938. "You made me Love you"..........She sang it to
a picture of Clark Gable (sigh..........). I just melt whenever I hear it.

Again, I am only 35. I was lucky enough to have people in my life who exposed
me to some wonderful music and films. (My aunt to me to see Hair when I was 7
yrs. old) But the friends I have that are my age find it odd that my music
collection runs from the Grateful Dead(my favorite) and Joni Mitchell(my
absolute favorite) to Judy Garland and the Ink Spots.

My oldest son (he will be 13 on August 2) loves songs from musicals. His
favorite is the Phantom of the Opera. Last September we went to see it at the
Kennedy Center (just us 2). What a special memory for he and I both! With 3
kids I've come to realize it is important to spend one-on-one time with each.
My hope is that when he is an adult he will continue to appreciate music and
theater as much as I do.

Ok, enough of that. Anyone remember Jackie Wilson? By The Light Of The
Silvery Moon flipside Retie Petie.....I have that 45. I love to play it. My
kids laugh! Oh, I want to croon.............
