[MOL] nsmlc-pre-op chemo

Hi again-

Thanks for the information about the PDQ on line. I downloaded both the one
for patients and for health professionals. Wednesday, my mother had her first
round of chemo - benedryl, something for nausea, tagamet, followed by tacol
and carboplatin. She has had a measles like rash on her back and was quite a
handful -- hallucinating, agitated, and the like. Her oncologist says that
such reactions are unusual for the drugs she was getting. Has anyone else
experienced the mental confusion side effects with this protocol? My dad had
a similar reaction to compazine, but those side effects weren't listed on
that circular either. Also, any suggestions for sooting a sore throat besides
chloroseptic (she's allergic) and popcicles? Any and all suggestions are
welcomed,

Oh, and I have looked here for the titles for suggested reading. The
bookstore shelves are FILLED with selfhelp books on sex -- but very few titles
concerning cancer. I'll keep looking....

greetings from soggy Mississippi-
allison
