Hi Christine,
I am glad you told me of your experience with the arm. I have been
stretching and it does hurt like hell, but I can feel that it is getting
better, not worse. I want to regain full use of my arm if possible so I
will exercise. This underarm feeling is a little like I had bumped my crazy
bone. It is a combinatin of sore and numb. How can that be? If it is numb,
it shouldn't be sore.
I feel that everything is healing nicely. The doctor took out all the
staples and stitches and the drain tube yesterday. He and his nurse both
talked to me about using my arm instead of favoring it. I think favoring it
is a very natural reaction but apparently not a positive reaction. My
family doctor is an osteopath and I think I will work with him on therapy.
I have had lots of back trouble in the past and he is very good at
relieving me and putting me back in good shape. I am sure he will be able
to put me on the right path or he will refer me to another therapist who
will.
I go in for my first appointment with the radiation therapy folks on the
28th of July. Everything seems to happen very fast. I hope that therapy
goes as well as things have gone so far.
Do you have any problem with meal planning and nutrition. I used to be a
good cook, but I have rather gotten out of touch with food preparation and
planning. I think it would fun and helpful if there were a group of people
who could do some cooperative menu planning and recipe sharing for a
nutritious support for healing. If the plan was made and the grocery list
was there to be sure everything needed was there when I went to cook, I
think doing meals would be much easier. Do you know of any such group on
line? Does it sound interesting to you? I am not interested in the gourmet
approach, I am interested in nutritionally sound rotation of foods that
promote good health.
Well, onward and upward. I have some things I want to get done and it won't
happen if I don't start on them.
Take care.
Liz P.
