Dear Betty:  There is another drug that is as effective as Tomoxifen
called Rolanafeine or Evista with far fewer side effects.  Tomoxifen
does call hot flashes and there has been no proof that it should be taken
for more than 5 years.  The problem occurs simply because all humans
are not alike and do not react the same to medications.  You really
should talk with your doctor regarding the side effects you are experiencing. 
To many people Tomoxifen has worked extremely well as a preventative to
reoccurring cancer.
