I am sorry Cathy that you are feeling so badly... I agree with Liz,
that training is needed and a compassionate heart... Unfortunately we
don't always encounter that... I have found that for me I use a little
humor and nice chit chat and it seems to break most of the barriers on that
level and when I go in, I ask how they are and am always sure to smile at them
in person and on the phone... If that doesn't work, then I get more
demanding and ask directly what there problem is? I tell them that I know
what mine is, I am having trouble ....................(I state it)... I usually
end it with a smile and from then on, am treated the same... Maybe our
role is to be the teacher of compassion and theirs is the student!!!
Love you both and go for it... You know what you need and you can get it
