Sounds like you and John (and probably some
others) have done a hell (oops) heck of a job of planning your New York
trip. I'm just jealous with envy that I can't afford to come. I
mentioned in another post, hope you got it, that Maury Povich (sp?) is in NYC as
well, there's also another one but I've forgotten who at this moment -- guess
I'll have to watch the talk shows tomorrow and find out. But Maury might
be another good person to talk with. He's always into good causes and
happy ending stories. Whatever way you get it done, I'd love to see all of
you on TV....it would make me feel almost like I was with you up
there!!
I just got off the phone with John. Here are some
preliminary ideas and plans that John and I will be discussing and if you
wish to contribute more ideas pls send them to myself with a cc to John
Lehner as I have in this message.
The event will be held in
YOrktown Heights, New YOrk. NOw don't worry we will give out instruction
how to get there in plenty of time and it is just outside N. Y. City. We
thought that the event should be peaceful and in a place that would not
be interrupted by the city tumult. But it is just outside of N.Y.
City.
The time and place will be discussed and we are looking at
somewhere around mid September. Will firm up date at the end of next
week, July 15th by the latest.
WE will be planning
on
1-Places for lodging 2-Food provisions, although we are hoping
it will be pot luck 3-Grocery stores in vicinity. 4-There will be
toilet facilities on premises 5-It will be in a beautfiful park 6-It
will be coincided with the march on Washington although New York will
also have an event so that we all can take in both together, I mean the
event we will be planning and the march in New YOrk rather
than Washington. Just a thought. 7-Some entertainment 8-A ball park
on the premises for some physical activity. 9=Advertising for the
event 10-All relatives invited and open to many with cancer as a
possibility. Just a thought or maybe you would like to contain this to
MOl. YOur queries would be appreciated.
And if you can think
of any other ideas pls forward them to me, marty auslander and I will
keep John posted. It appears that we will have as many as 12 or more at
this time and we will be certainly urging for many more Molers so that
this becomes a yearly event. If you don't mind, we will be calling this
first years event "A Celebration to Life"
I am also hoping
that we can make contact with Montel Williams so that can be coincided
with our event. I know that many of you have e-mailed and written to him
for support. That is great
So, I will keep you posted frequently. Pls
come back to me with any other thoughts you may have to make this event
the first and beginning a great yearly purpose for living event. I
am getting so very excited to meeting all of you.
