I really, really apologize for taking so long
to reply to you but my house has been like a mad house recently. My
youngest son got jailed for having pot, my oldest son was in an extremely bad
car crash. The hospital didn't think he needed to be hospitalized the
night of the wreck (his father-in-law was driving and sustain several broken
bones, etc.) but by the next morning his body was bloating up and they admitted
him immediately. Turned out he had some internal injuries as well as a
broken collar bone and, if I remember right, a ruptured disc (something was
broken on his disk. Then in the midst of all of this, I had to make 2
court appearanced regarding the custody we have of our middle grandbaby.
Looks like the court, over time, is going to let our granddaughter's mama (who
hasn't seen her in months) start seeing her and eventually letting her keep her
1 night every one or two weeks. Before that happens, all visitation will
be restricted to my house and supervised by me. Now, aren't you
sorry you asked your one simple question??????
Back to housing. Didn't I send you a
report of a couple of housing possibilities that were supposed to be close to
(excuse me for my forgetfullness) the Mayo Clinic? Anyway, the big thing
is did I send you a report of a couple of housing places? If I did,
there should have been a phone number for each one. Call the one you're
most interested in first to verify cost, I believe The Hospitality Program
offers housing for a requested donation of $15 for the first person per night
and the other I've requested info from them in writing but haven't received
their reply. The biggest thing will be for them to have space
available. If neither of them does, call the hospital and ask if they have
a private housing program of their own or places they could recommend that would
be close by and low cost. If you have to go the latter route, make sure
they know that you are there for medical reasons, some motels/hotels will reduce
their rates for that as well.
If you need some help working this out, give me
a yell at 972-641-1887 and we'll work through it.
Take care my friend and please be sure to let us know what is
going on. I'll try to do some more research here to see if there are any
little hidden bits of information on this very interesting type of cancer.
Unless you tell me differently, I'm going to assume this all started out in the
intestines and had mets to the other areas.
Last question: Do you know when you plan to leave
yet?? If it's soon, then go with God and know I'll be praying for all of
you!!!
hi cindy - all i know is that they
found cancer cells in the intestines that were removed - they also said
that it had penetrated the stomach wall - last month when he had a ct
scan they found some spots on his liver - hopefully the chemo will help -
also how do i activate the housing that you mentioned - thanks
