Mary,
I'm glad to hear that Angelo is doing so well! I think that is a very
good sign that the battle lines are being pushed forward and that
cancer is retreating!
If you think about it for a moment, it would be unfair of your Doctors
Nurse to make guesses about what she sees in a CAT Scan. It
reminds me of a story I read about a wife who, when seeing her
husband's images of his lungs drew a sharp, deep breath and grew
faint: the Doctor, seeing her worry pointed at the dark spot on the
lungs and told her "and that dark spot is his heart."
I think I saw that in Erma Bombeck's book: "I Want to Grow Up,
I Want to Grow Hair, I Want to Go to Boise." If I can take a
minute to plug for her book (it was a real joy to read), all the
proceeds from sales in the United States go to the American
Cancer Society, all the proceeds from sales in Canada go to
the Canadian Cancer Society and all the proceeds from sales
in Europe go to a European cancer program (sorry, I can't
remember the name.)
I was surprised to learn that Erma Bombeck died of Liver problems.
Now that isn't such a surprise, but I was surprised to hear that
she had the opportunity to use her fame, wealth and position to
"cheat" and jump in line for a Liver Donor, which she turned down.
You don't get to hear about those kinds of principals too often,
and I'm impressed.
This gives me an idea for my web site: Book Reviews. That
would be fun. Gee whiz, I might just have to dedicate my
entire website to Cancer, I've only got 250 megabytes reserved.
LOL, "now why in the WORLD would you ever need a floppy
disk with 512 Kilobytes on it????"
Again, I'm so glad to hear the good news about your Angelo.
>From your description, I cannot but feel that he must be doing
very well!
Love,
Ross

Ross,
I checked out your Web Page with the photo's. They look great.
My husbands onc. is out of town so we had to talk to one of her
nurses about his CAT Scan. She said the some of the lymph glads in his
chest cavity have grown and some have stayed the same. She told us
that we would do better to talk to the Doctor about the results
whereas she really isn't qualified to read these. I just kept calling
and bugging the heck out of her until she told me something. She says
it looks to her like he is stable. I was really hoping for something
better than that.
My husband Angelo is a little down now about the results, but I told
him not to get too discouraged until he talks to the Onc. on Wednesday.
That is his next Chemo treatment.
I just can't get over how well he seems to be feeling. You'd swear he
wasn't sick at all, except for the baldness and fatigue. Thankyou
all for praying for Angelo, and please continue to do so as I will for
each of you.
I hope all is well with your Wife Marty. Please let us know.
God Bless
Mary
