Re: [MOL] Lung Cancer

Debbie,

I just started on this site and came across your message today. Let me give
you my situation. I came down with a cold about 4 weeks ago. Rather than
going to the Dr. I waited from Thursday until Saturday so I could call and my
Dr. would call in a prescription. Hindsight as they say is 20/20. About 2
weeks later I began having chest pains in my right should and back. I figured
pneumonia since I have had this before. I still waited from Saturday until
Tuesday before going in to see the Dr. Here I am now going into have a
bronchoscopy on Thursday due to a 4.8 cm. mass. They still do not know if
this is cancer however, EVERYTHING is pointing that way. I must say that this
hit me out of nowhere. I too am 35 yrs. old with 3 children (3, 8 & 13). I
have thought about things in these last 2 weeks that I should have thought
about a long time ago. The thing that has given me hope is my friend
Nancy....Nancy is so dear to me I cannot even put it into words. She was
diagnosed 2 1/2 yrs. ago with breast cancer. Last fall it came back to haunt
her liver. The Dr. told her she had 6 mos. to a year. I was with her when
they took out some of her liver and gallbladder and I have done everything I
can to help her in any way I can. I amazed this past Friday when she showed
up at my house (a 45 minute drive) to spend time with because she knew I was
scared. While sitting in my backyard she looked at me and said, "I always
wondered why this was happening to me. I always said that God had a reason for
this happening. Now I'm thinking good or bad, maybe my job was to be here for
you and listen and answer any fears you have." I am sure you can imagine how
I felt at that moment...I love her dearly. And who knows, maybe she is right.
I know I am jumping the gun however, as I said, things do not seem too
optimistic but I continue to have hope.
