Re: [MOL] lots to think about

Dear Liz,

A decision like that is between your God, innerwisdom and your faith in
your medical team. But first may I suggest a little research and
assurance is in order. A decision like this needs to be confronted by
knowing that other medical teams would concur. So, I would suggest a 2nd
and possibly third opinion from a medical team that are on the National
Cancer Insititute of comprehensive hospitals. Pls call 1-800-4cancer and
they will provide you with a list of hospitals in your area.

The other is there have been great advances in understanding that
doctors have rethought their protocal about mastectomies and believe in
many cases that a combination of radiation and chemotherapy maybe the
best protocal first. Now that doesn't mean that is the case for
everyone. I believe it depends on staging, advancement, etc. But I would
encourage you to seek other opinions before you make your decision.

And one other suggetion. I would seek out a breast cancer support group
to talk with other breast cancer survivors to see what plan(s) they
chose or researched. Another avenue of reassurance for you

God Bless
