Hi everyone!
Finally - 2 days without rain. We'd had six consecutive days of rain - a
lot of it heavy. Unfortunately the rain will be back again tonight.
I went to a cancer support group tonight at Marion General. Last month I
had gone and I was the only cancer person there. Tonight there were two
older ladies there. One's husband has brain cancer and she was pretty
down and wore out. We had to tell her to take some time for herself to
"rejuvenate". The other lady had colon cancer 6 years ago. However, her
husband just recently died, so the two ladies had a lot in common.
It was a bit of a downer for me because I've been in good spirits, and
I'm not having any problems. Personally I couldn't relate to the other
two, although I certainly could understand and sympathize with them.
Before the end, the meeting turned a little more upbeat, thank goodness.
I'm not much of a support group type of person, but I'm going to keep
trying these support groups. I'm sure the sessions are totally different
from month to month. Next week I'm going back down to Columbus to a
support group of just gynecological cancers. It might have more value
for me than the local group that includes all cancers.
Anyhow . . . got my house cleaned today. It's so nice to not have to
clean those toilets! That's what I'm really paying for more than
anything!
Love,
Annie
