Lillian it's so good to have you back. It sounds as if you and Carla had
a wonderful time but was sorry your computer had to be so difficult. We
are holding up here, thanks for asking. George's xray yesterday
indicated that the antibiotics may have helped a little but the doctor
didn't think very much. After conferring with the radiation doctor and
lung specialist, he decided that further chemotherapy and added
radiation were not advisable at this time, but another round of
antibiotics, this time he will be on Augmentin. We were told that he
would probably always have pnuemonia or some kind of lung infection
other than the cancer because of the blockage there, and his lungs can
not properly aerate. He is happy that they opted to give him more
antibiotics for now, though.
His brother from Hawaii is coming next week, I have never met him,
but have met his wife and she is a lovely person. Apparently he is the
argumentative one of the family, so I called in reinforcements, and some
of the the other brothers and sisters are coming from California and one
in Oregon, but the star of the show will be his 84 year old sister from
Iowa who can whip her weight in wildcats when it comes to debating and
arguing, so this should be interesting. Apparently these two together
with one of the older brothers who is in Canada right now used to get
into some pretty wild discussions, each taking an opposite view just to
irritate the other, so I may be calling on all of you for help next
week. George, as one of the youngest in his family, will sit back and
enjoy the show, so it can't be all bad if it provides him with a little
humor if only for a little while. Actually he is in very good spirits
considering he doesn't feel so perky.
As far as my green thumb is concerned, I'm looking forward to the
Hawaiian brother tell me what is wrong with my roses I just planted, he
grows them on the Kona Coast and sells them to local florists. His
growing methods for that climate have been adopted by others, I guess.
Maybe he can tell me the proper way to grow herbs. We'll see. However
I'm sure he would be very strict as to the kind I should grow.
When Marty gets back everything will be back to "normal" on here,
whatever normal is. Your friend, JoanDonna Jennings wrote:
