What you are saying is exactly right. Until you feel positive and
confident, fake it. My husband has been in sales all his life, been there,
done that. He sold water softeners for a while which required an in-home
presentation. It is the toughest kind of sales but, like you said, you get
paid whether they buy or not so that should relieve some of the pressure.
Once you do a couple of demos you will feel a lot more confident. My sister
bought a set of knives from an in-home demo, so people do buy!! Think of it
as a character building experience.
