Hi to everyone,
I was at the onc's with my dad today, he recieved gemzarfor his treatment the
doc feels it will take a few more before we see any kind of results. Remember
how i told you how dad was feeling very tired, well turns out that his
hemogulbin count was low. I'm told this is the oxegyen carrier (please excuse
my spelling). So they scheduled him for atransfusion tommorrow. Has anyone
had one, or can anyone give me some info>
Also his been very disoriented lately, and extremely weak slurring words, we
thought it was frome the morphine and lack of any exercise due to exhaustion,
But the doc said it relates to the liver disease ( he has mets there) And that
the liver is not functioning up to par thus not taking the toxins out. this
will cause his syptoms. I know this doesn't sound like good news, but i got
to say Our onc is a great guy, very hopeful, he look at my dad today and said
Tony it is by no means over for you. we have many avenues to follow.I thought
that was so nice. He feels very strong about the gemzar and feels it will take
affect.
Well if anyone has any info on transfusions please let me know
feel well
Dana
