Hi all.I just got back from the hospital. I happened to pick a good time to go
because the neurologist, orthopedist, and oncologist all stopped in.They asked her some questions looked at her recent MRI and determined that
the pain in her neck and shoulders as well as the pain in her legs are
being caused by a tumor on her neck resting against her spinal cord and if
she doesn't have it treated, she may become paralyzed. She will try
radiation first and then surgery if that fails. So, basically nothing is
going right and every new pain turns out to be a new tumor. The doctors all seemed very concerned and no one acted as if it is hopeless
and I really had no further questions. They are taking care of her calcium
build-up and she is eating well and feeling no pain, most likely due to the
shots of morphine. She was asking for Hospice but he discouraged it for now because she is
still under treatment, which I am glad the are not appearing to give-up
even if she is.
I feel ok with the treatment and am glad they are keeping her in the
hospital to monitor her.Take Care All
Mary
