Re: [MOL] Bio under name

You are keeping me busy Cindy.  I think its up to everyone, a unified decision.  It is difficult to know who's who, we have all experienced that; but if we go bio, people may only correspond with a certain member and therefore miss allot of good information.  That's a thought I think is important and the beauty of this line, as I have learned from everyone.  If a new person sends in a query on say lung cancer, I know the folks who have gone through this as a caregiver or survivor or fighter will respond with the factual information.  Yet, I have read where ex:  Jean has giving some wonderful help and right before the crash Shiela had shared some excellent wisdom, and Christine and on and on.  I would hate for anyone not to benefit from the goodness of all.  Lillian

Joicy, I agree with you and Lillian.  If there was a way to put it in a signature for just this board it might not be so bad.  But, like you, I write to a lot of other folks and it's just not something I want to broadcast to the entire world.  To type it in each time would indeed be burdomsome.  Although I see the good in it.  The first several months I was on this board I was in a state of total confusion as to who was who and who had what and who was caregiver to who, so it would be nice to have that information on those individuals who want that info to be public.  I wonder if it could be part of a voluntary listing of folks here that were attached as a file to new members along with the other wonderful files Lillian sends to new members.  Lillian, since I just put you in the middle, what would you think of something like that and only for members willing to share their bio? cindy

Subject: Re: [MOL] Glad to Be Back!Lillian, re: bio info --I actually had the same reaction about
automatically icluding it with every response...and given the informal
nature of our "roles" on the forum, and the frequently spontaneous
responses back and forth, it's also kind of burdensome. I don't want to
put it on my email signature (I do write other people!), and I don't
want to add it each time I write. I think we are pretty good about
sharing appropriate info when responding to new people on the line, so
maybe that can suffice. My 2 cents, anyhow! Joicy
