Dear Bernie,
We did go camping. Friday night was wet and rainy--I wasn't even sure
that my two-wheel drive pickup would make it all the way to the place
where we parked--it was slippery, wet, red clay on old logging roads.
Twice we drove through a shallow river (flowing over the top of the road.)
But we managed to keep the inside of the tent dry, and slept good on
Friday night. The weather cleared up while we slept, and Saturday and
Sunday were unbelievable. I can hardly believe I'm not quitting my day
job and just moving out their permanently.
That's the short story--I'm due to go pick up one of my boys from cooking
class RIGHT NOW!!! Gee whiz, that was his preference for a summer
activity--a cooking class. I hope he comes out all right. (Just kidding,
he's
a real sweetheart who happens to love to eat.) His brother is taking
golfing lessons.
