RE: [MOL] Liver Cancer

Betty,

Where do you live?

Who is Dr. M D Anderson?

What does "A clear margin was obtained." mean?
My daughter, Mavis, has synovial sarcoma cancer in her liver. She had
40% of her liver removed, left side.

Dr. said chance of recurring is 70%. Oh well. Just hope for the
best, I guess.

She is going to see an oncologist at Stanford Hospital, Palo Alto, CA

She is 31 years old, and you?

What kind of cancer do you have?
How aggressive is your cancer?

Mavis is recovering fine from the surgery. But the oncologist, Dr.
Fisher, we want to have to take care of her is on vacation and we
cannot get to see him (for the first time) until June 22nd. That is
more than 2 weeks away. We could ask for a different oncologist at
Stanford sooner. Is time critical? Mavis' case, her cancer is "high
grade", meaning aggressively growing.

Another thing, what is better? To discuss everything with Mavis or
not talk to her about things that would depress her.

Ben
Jan. 97 the growth was found.
I had surgery Mar. 1 and 2/3 of right lobe was removed.
A clear margin was obtained.
3 mos. later tumors came back in both lobes.
I have never had any chemo but I am going to M D Anderson in June for
an evaulation. Doctors are amazed that I dont even appear to be sick.
I just continue to live my life as usual with a few rest stops on the
way. Keep me posted. I care.
Betty
have a good day
