Dana: I was very lethargic during my chemo. I had no ambition to do
anything. The more treatments I had the worse I felt. Being weak was for me
the worst of it. It was because the chemo destroyed my ability to produce red
blood cells. When red bood cells are reduced the amount of oxygen carried by
the blood is also significantly reduced. Without oxygen any physical effort
is exhausting.
Tell your dad to keep a close eye on the blood count and when he gets to weak
to notify the ONC. A transfusion may be in order. We are not DR's. and it is
better to consult your DR on specific issues because each person's reaction to
chemo varies significantly.
Tell Tony we are praying for him and hope all goes well.
