Well, the CT scan showed some swelling, but it
does not necessarily mean growth. Tumor sometimes swell when first
assaulted w/ chemotherapy. Dr Khuri feels that it is way too early to tell
anything.
The bloodwork indicated a very elevated white
cell count. Until we can get it down, he can't have that 2nd round of
chemo. We were also given the general warnings about monitoring vitals,
avoiding anyone "germy" (a great medical term, all my own).
Charlie could become nuetrapenic or septic very quickly, so we are being very
careful. We look at the blood again in 4 days to see if there is
improvement.
I need sleep and I will write more later to
individuals---but in the meantime:
All MOLers Carla, Marty, John, Jean, Diana, Lil,
etc., etc., thanks for the support and contact.
Patricia whose husband has tongue cancer and a
PEG tube, Charlie has had the tube since 2/19, and I have a lot to share
with you. Check back in a few hours.
Howard-thanks so much for the letter. You have a long
one coming soon from me.
Carol, Dr, Khuri says yes to a reflexology
massage. No massage to head, neck, chest as we might damage a
tumor.
Paul, you are amazing, and please call - I
do want to talk to you over the weekend...and when we are out of the woods w/
white blood elevation, and you are in Houston, we want you to
visit.
To everyone else, hugs, love, and a sincere thanks for the
strength you give us.
