I am very interested in all the latest information you can give on Gene
Therapy. My dad is very interested in this clinical trial and should be
hearing something today from the clinic that does this in New Orleans. All
he's waiting for is the ok. He was supposed to hear from them last week but
for some strange reason they never return his calls. The doctors there are
supposed to go over his medical records today and get back with my dad.
So.... Now all we can do is wait. If dad doesn't hear anything by Monday he
is going to start chemo. New Orleans was his last chance at Gene therapy for
mesothelioma. We are finding out the hard way that it is not easy getting
into clinical trials and I am really surprised that they do not return phone
calls especially to people who's lives are on the line. I just don't
understand it. This is all such a big nightmare. I just don't know what else
to do for dad. I have even called there myself and that is how I found out
the doctors were not going to meet last Thursday to go over files of
qualifying patience. I just hated telling my father. I could hear the
sadness in his voice and the disappointment of knowing he had to wait another
week. What else can we do? Does anyone have any suggestions? You all here
have good ideas. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
