RE: [MOL] Lori's Dad

Hi Ruth,

Glad to hear from you and know that you are recovering.I hadn't seen anything for awhile and I was getting worried a bit.

Is it amazing the variety of nursing staff that exists? At the end of Feb. Dad had to get his first Taxol treatment on a Saturday as an outpatient at the hospital and the 3 hour treatment ended up taking 7 ! He was getting so frustrated with them that I thought the blood pressure would skyrocket from that instead of any possible reaction to the Taxol.

I saw your earlier post about hitting the jackpot. That is so great. My Mom and Dad both enjoy going to the casinos occasionally - actually my Mom is the one that is so hard to get out of the places. I can't imagine how excited you must have been when the machine hit. I've hit $100/$200 winners and was got excited, I would probably become one those screaming women that annoy me so much !

To answer your question about my Mom - she is teaching in Starkweather, ND. My Dad was the superintendent there until last Feb. when he got so sick. She has driven back & forth every weekend and I think is very excited about the year being done. She actually had a very good winter for driving luckily - not a single blizzard this year.

If you get back to Ottertail this year, you will be very surprised by all the changes in the area. Battle Lake now actually has a main steet of business, instead of a main street of empty store fronts. We've had a summer place up there for 20+ years and I really like the way things have been developed.

Sorry to hear things are so complicated with the treatment side of things. Can't offer a whole lot of help or ideas, but I sure hope things work out for you.

I better go. I still have a few more emails to look at. I spent the weekend painting my downstairs bath and so quite a few piled up. Plus my husband is in Germany and with the time difference the easiest way to talk to him is to send a fax though. If I send it now, he will get it before he leaves for the office. This is the 2nd week he's been there so I've got the international fax from the computer all set up !! So much easier than trying to put through on a regular fax machine - at least for me.

Have a great week and just be good to yourself. Don't overdo because you think you aren't doing enough. Do want you feel you can and then rest. It sounds like you are fighting a good fight so keep it up ! (I know I use exclamations WAY too much-smile)You're really fun to hear from and we don't want you getting worn out !(just one more)
