Dear Jean,
The city of Los Angeles is placing in their annual budget a $250,000
allowance to license cats. Each cat has to be yearly licensed at $10.00
each if nutured/spayed and $30.00 each if not. I am glad I don't live
in L.A. just outside of it. Not there are pros and cons why, and I
don't want to get into the politics, but it seems ironic that we should
discuss this as I have just logged onto a childrens cancer discussion
about pets and the scientific findings are that those children with
major diseases tend to survivor better and longer with cats or dogs much
longer than those that do not.
Glad you are a cat lover. I had three in my life, all lived til the age
of at least 18, one I have now is 19 and I guess that is typical life
expectancy of cat, but they were and are well treated, fed, played
with, and cared for when we go on vacation. MUch to be said about pets,
the benefits, and love and relationship between human and pet and the
rewards. Glad I have one.
Take care Jean and thank you for sharing that with us.
God Bless
marty
