To all of Ron's friends,
I just now got off the telephone with Ron. He sounds better than last
night. I didn't want to post anything this morning until I had spoken
with him again for I feared he may not have made it through the night.
He is very sick at this time...last night he was incoherent and, in fact,
does not recall our conversation of last night. He still has fever and
now has a full time duty nurse assigned to him. His sister is with him
at the hospital. He could only talk a couple of minutes because of dry
mouth and exhaustion. They are just trying to treat his pneumonia and
keep the fever under control. I did manage a laugh from him when I
accused him of causing the pnemonia by flashing me when I came to visit
on Monday. He retorted that he had worked very hard to develop that
Buddha Body and was determined to show it off! He also wished to be
remembered to all of you. He draws strength from your prayers and
thoughts.
Please keep praying for Ron. He is special to us all and (I am sure) to
God. In talks that we had on Monday, he made it clear that he intends to
fight to be with us for as long as he can and that he, at the same time,
is not afraid of death and is prepared to go with God when that time
comes. He is a wonderful man who gives so much to us even now. By his
example, we can all benefit from his courage, hope, and faith.
