Subject: [MOL] Strong feelings
Lately I see more strong feelings being posted on the MOL.
These feelings of frustration and anger and resentment for being sick or for
losing a friend or a spouse are part of the healing that we all must go
through on this journey.
I was adopted by my grandparents. My grandmother was widowed when I was eight
years old. She was my Mother, not because of some legal document, but because
of her love and devotion in caring for me. In 1959 she died of breastcancer
and of course I was devastated by the loss. She had suffered greatly in the
last two years of her life and I selfishly wanted her to be around for a lot
longer.
During my grieving I thought of the times that I had made her angry with me
for something I had said or done. I can't remember what it was at this
moment, but I do remember her rage at me. She was a short and somewhat stout
woman with gray hair. As she yelled at me she had a "BLOWOUT". That is she
yelled so hard and so loud she launched her false teeth right into the midddle
of my chest.
That stopped the anger and we both ended up in the middle of the kitchen floor
Laughing at the situation (a true ROTFLOL). Every time I get angry or upset
about my condition or the condition of others I remember her flying false
teeth and it brings tears of joy to my eyes.
It replaces the anger with an outrageous and hilarious real life situation.
It heals the wounds caused by the anger.
God Bless Us All
Les
