God works in very appropriate ways! I was in a meeting today and a friend
asked about Mom and said she had some information I might want to help Mom
during this time. While her mother was going through breast cancer
radiation and chemo, they found many small things that made her more
confortable. Things such as silk caps to wear on her very tender head,
special mouthwash to use during chemo to keep down mouth sores, pills that
helped with dry mouth, etc. My friend has compiled this list of helpful
hints and she shares it with anyone who may need it. I will get the list
tomorrow.
I called home tonight and Mom finished her radiation treatments today (for
non-small cell lung cancer stage IV (brain involvement)). She is feeling
rough and to top it all off she starting losing her hair this morning. I
told her of the silk caps and would get her some ASAP. I plan on making a
"Love Basket" of all the things on the list.
When I get the list tomorrow, I will share it with the MOL. If anyone knows
of anything that makes the rad and chemo process more tolerable please let
me know.
