Dear JMAXK2ND,
Any symptom where there is a gynecological test or level that may be of
a symptom may or may not be related to ovarian cancer. However, if there
are concerns I would suggest the following.....A Pap Smear and a blood
test called tumor marker ca-125 be taken.. Now either one is NOT
conclusive but there could be indications of levels higher than normal
from those tests that may suggest concerns. If at that point the pap
smear and/or ca-125 is elevated, then a possible surgical biopsy
probably would be recommended.
HOwever, those that I mentioned are the extreme circumstances to which a
biopsy would be indicated. First the tests, then see an Oncologist for
further testing, maybe cat scans, pet scans, ultrasounds and or mri. for
further results.
To answer your question, there may or may not be a comparison between
the two, however, further testing to address the concerns would be
warranted and suggested.
HOpe this helps.
God Bless
