Dear Desperate w/lung cancer
My name is Debbie. I'm 40 years old. I am a single mother of 3 daughters,
ages 13, 15, and 19. You didn't say what type of lung cancer you have, I
was diagnosed in June of 1997 with stage 3B non-small cell lung cancer. I
was treated with navelbine and cisplatin last summer, then 30 radiation
treatments. Just this past Friday I found out it's growing in the same
place again and there's a new spot on the other lung.
I feel for you. I know exactly what you're going through. I go to my
oncologist this afternoon to find out what the treatment will be. I'll
let everyone know what he says tomorrow.
I'm not real good as far as giving advice or anything. I just take one day
at a time, and pray that with all the new research and drugs we've been
hearing about lately that one of them will be the right one for me and
others. Don't give up hope. Try to stay on line with this list serve.
They're many terrific, caring people on it that give advice, tell jokes to
lift our spirits, and pray. Just yesterday there was two posting for new
drugs being used for my type of cancer.
Hang in there and God Bless
