[MOL] A Possible Cancer Cure - Endostatin/Angiostatin

My Dear Friends. It has been, needless to say very strained weekend for

many, but if I may say this: When one door closes another opens, and I

am encouraged to have learned about the following. I have been in

contact with the N.C.I. and they are and will be providing information

on clinical trials in the near future. So, with this very good news I am

hoping we can come together, with a sigh of some relief, in unity to

shout with glee that finally what we have been strained and in stress

about, may be coming to a conclusion of great hope and cure. Pls join me

in praying for that. I am certain you will find the following article to

be the best HOPE we have had to date about cure, God Willing.

God Bless

2 DRUGS MAY BE CANCERS NEMESIS:

HEALTH: Angiostatin and endostatin are shown to halt the disease in

mice. HOpe is high for human tests.

Within a year, if all goes well, the first cancer patient will be

injected with two new drugs that can eradicate any, ANY, type of cancer,

with no obvious side effects, and no drug resistance - in mice.

Some cancer researchers say the drugs are the most exciting treatment

that they have ever seen. But the expectations are tempered with caution

as that the history of cancer expectations of high hopes, are dashed

with remarkable effects in animals and then tested in people.

National Cancer Institute has made the drugs their top priority said

Dr. Klausner, the Director. I am putting nothing on higher priority than

getting this into clinical trials".

The new drugs, angiostatin and endostatin, work by interfering with the

blood supply tumors need. Given together, they make tumors disappear and

not return.

So far, the drugs are the only ones ever tested that can seemingly

eradicate all tumors in mice, even gigantic ones, equivalent to 2 pound

growth in a person. The best that other cancer drugs have done is slow

the growth.

The drug discoverer, Dr. Judah Folkman, a cancer researcher at

Childrens Hospital in Boston, is cautious about drugs promise. Until

patients take them, he said, it is dangerous to make predictions.

Other researchers are not so restrained. "Judah is going to cure cancer

in two years", said Dr. James Watson, a Nobel laureate.

Results of mice tests follows (Not for the weak hearted).

After 15 days, the researchers killed the mice and cut them open. As

more than a dozen scientists gathered around a table in the laboratory,

the first mouse was opened. It had huge tumors filling its lungs. Then

Dr. Folkman checked a noteboook to see what the animal had received:

salt water. They looked at the next mouse. NO tumors. Folkman checked to

see the treatment: angiostatin. And so it went. All 10 of the mice that

had b een injected with angiostatin were free of cancer. All 10 of those

that had been received salt water had huge new tumors.

A picture of the mouse in the article clearly indicates that the cancer

shrunk to almost nothing, but sometimes returned when treatment stopped

with either endostatin or angiostatin. AFter several weeks of

injections with both drugs, the cancer shrinks to nothing and does not

return.
