Re: [MOL] CT Results -- need PET scan info/Les

Les if you are wanting information on PET scans then you should be able to
get it from your doctor. Especially since Cincinnati is one of the Cities
that have one. Christ Hospital. I have had two of them done and to put it
in lay terms; you are injected with a radioactive dye and then scanned in a
machine resembles a CT scan machine to we lay people. The machine cuts at
1/4" intervals. It will show live organs i.e., heart etc., in red and
tumors will change colors as well. It can detect tumors as small as .5cm.
It was approved by medicare in January. If I were only able to have one
test done to monitor my chest, it would be the PET scan and I would give up
the x-rays and the CT scans... Hope this has helped you. If you call
Christ Hospital and ask for nuclear medicine they may also be able to send
you a brochure if your doctor is not up to date on the test.... Carla
