I have to be very brief again because the news we got from my doctor came as
such a relief that I think every fiber in body said Lie down and rest, I have
been sleeping on and off since I got home. I see I have a lot of mail in
response to my note this morning. I'll read it later, but for now I truly feel
exhausted.
Earlier today I gave you last night's figures. Today they came out like this:
whites, 29.7 (down 20!); H/H 9.9/29 and platelets 24,000. So that hydroxyurea
really worked. You will remember that he told me to take three of them, two
hours apart, last night. Now he has told me to take one today, one on
Saturday, one on Sunday and none on Monday before going to see him for another
test at 7 p.m.
Who knows what time will tell, but for the moment, this is a day of great
