Re: [MOL] Skin Cancer Vaccine in final testing stage

Hey Marty,
Yes, but is it available to anyone outside a trial at this point? Would
really appreciate your info on that, as Bob is excluded from melanoma
vaccine trials due to the fact that he has brain tumors.

Subject: [MOL] Skin Cancer Vaccine in final testing stage

Orange County REgister dated 4/9/98

A vaccine billed as a skin cancer fighter is in the last phase of
testng before heading to the Food and Drub Administration for approval,
the John Wayne Cancer Institute in Santa Monica, has announced.

The vaccine developed in the 1960's and used on an experiemntal bais
since 1984, rouses the bodys immune system to fight metastatic melanoma,
said Dr. Donald Morton, the oncologist who pioneered the vaccine.

It has triggered a strong immune response in 90 percent of patients
treated so far, said Morton, medical director and surgeon in chief of
the institute.

I know there have been a few to log onto mol in the past month or so
about metastatic melanoma, so this is a very good positive information
for this wonderful spiritual weekend.

I will be posting another vaccine information on cervical cancer
progress shortly.

God Bless all and have a great weekend.
