Please remember the following is only my opinion.
I think any Dr that would say or imply that there is nothing we can do
for you is NOT the Dr I would want for myself or a loved one. There
are positive results for Stage IV. There's Steriostactic Radiosurgery,
a form of radiation, and several other similar treatments that have
been very effective on brain mets, as well as mets in other parts of
the body.
I understand it is hard for most chemos to reach the brain mets, but
I'm sure some of them do.
How large was the tumor in your Mom's lungs? I really hope
your Mom can find a different Dr. Please check out the site for
M D Anderson and call the 1-800-4-cancer # and see if they can
give you 2 or 3 different Dr's name within reasonable distance for
your Mom.
I'm hoping you will hear from some others on forum with suggestions.
Take Care and know that most of us has experience with Dr's whose
attitudes are not what we would want, your Mom is the Customer,
she deserves a Dr that is going to really try and help her.
I hope I haven't upset you and remember this is only my opinion.
