Dearest Ruth,
drruth@onlinemac.com
I would love to take credit as my theory but there have been a number of
articles written as well as a piece on "60 Minutes" as well as other
media reports about the reasons of lung cancer in women increasing.
I see so many concerns about women in the working place. One is the
increased activity that surrounds the number of various types of disease
as a result of say, stress, or environmental or lifestyle changes
including increase of alchohol and I see as well the problems with the
decreasing values of children from both parents working. So, the
problems are compounding and becoming increasingly concerning. That is
not to say women should not take their rightful place to seek business
goals. I see it as a medical as well as family concerns for all of us.
Ruth, in my wifes case, i am a firm believe that it was a very
consistent daily "toxic stress" related to the many hours and stressful
incidents in her running a business for 20 years. Although I wasn't much
help to her as well. So, I agree with you, in addition, that the stress
level was a contributory factor to her diagnosis. When her lifestyle
changed to one of no stress, she then began to get well.
I am sure you would agree that lung cancer in either women or men may be
attributable to smoking, at least there are many reports from the
medical community that is warning of the effects from smoking.
Thank you for your input, Ruth it was very personal and warm.
God Bless and yes support systems need to be directed to many specific
diseases. The more education and knowledge, the more surivivors tend to
take charge of their wellness.
Once again, God Bless
