Dear Mozart,
MozartOK@aol.com
I know when my wife had cancer, and that was very recent, that whenever
we needed reassurance as well as additional information we, every 3-5
months sought out a 2nd opinion as my wife had many complications and
various types of treatments. So, my suggestion is, while you are
awaiting your treatments, pls seek out a very good 2nd opinion.
May I also suggest this that you said "possible side effects may be
scary to say the least". Every treatment comes with a "possible" side
effect list. Not every one who incurs treatment experiences every side
effect or in fact the majority of the side effects that are listed and
some do not experience the same effect as the next person that incurs
the same treatment. However, the medical community has to list all
possible side effects to be aware of so that preparations can be taken
to avoid those side effects, for one like nausea. Now, we intentionally
did not read those side effects, because as I have read many books
indicates that once you read those lists, your psychi will keep in its
memory bank and anticipate those side effects so Barb, my wife,
experienced very few side effects other than, originally nause which we
overcame and hair loss. but, in time her hair came back beautifully,
darker and fuller.
I would look to chemotherapy as a friend. It is intended to kill cancer
cells and your most positive attitude will provide the impetus to what
it is suppose to do, and that is help get rid of those cells. I would
also suggest reading those books that provide much HOPE ,including the
books on nutrition and exercise while being treated with chemotherapy.
I would also suggest drinking much water, maybe 1/2 gal to 1 gal a day,
to avoid any organ (liver, kidney ) damage from the toxicity of chemo.
God Bless and hope these words benefit
