Dear Lisa: I regret hearing about your mothers cancer spreading to her
liver; however we will all tell you the same thing and that is, there is
always hope. Many times Doctors take a the hope away by giving statistics;
but just as many times we have met those who refused to allow the statistics
to be right, fought with all their might and lived long after the
predictions of doctors. Several are right here on this board. Now you will
hear from most of us. There is a medication that greatly reduces the nausea
and one of the other members will talk with you on this. Soy Milk, vanilla
is an excellent source to help put weight back on plus to build up the
immune system, Ensure also a licquid has many nutrients in it; but be sure
to use all flavors so as not to bound your mother. Pls. know we are with
you in mind and spirit and hope you will keep us updated. Are you your
mothers caregiver? Sincerely, Lillian

(On the Home Page of Medicine On Line (MOL) go to
Medline. This is a service of the National Library of Medicine which
provides literature searches in the medical journals. When you enter the
name of the cancer it will return articiles from the
last 3 years. The cancer links contains patient files. The Medicine
On Line Cancer Services are listed there including some quite good
international sites.)
