[MOL] Re:

Cheryl,

I just read your post to the mol-forum and I had to respond to you. I am
not exactly the same as you; I am Non Small Cell Lung Cancer Adenocarcinoma
Stage IIb. I was diagnosed the day they did the biopsy and they had to
remove my lung at the same time.

It sounds as if this has all happened very recently for you and when you say
that you don't know how long you've had it, nor how long you have to live,
let me assure you that no one in this world can honestly answer that
question. Statistics are just that and if you choose to research and/or
discuss this with your oncologist you will undoubtedly be given statistics.
I think I got more frightened after I got the statistics than I was before
and it took some real work and alot of prayers for me to somewhat let go of
the statistics so I could focus on life.

You have embarked on the cancering journey with alot of other people who
have joined this forum to be able to discuss their cancer with others and
who have needed a safe place to be on the cancering journey. There are also
some wonderful loved ones "caregivers" of those who are on the cancering
journey and this gives you the opportunity to see it from both sides.

I myself have decided that I am a cancer survivor and I have faith in God
and I believe that the way I think has an awful lot to do with the way I am,
so I am taking the positive path as best I can. I have truly been blessed
since I found out that I was cancering and have made some wonderful changes
in my life and been given so much from so many others on this journey.. I
am a far richer person today, than I was last November. I pray that you too
will find the joy inside of you as you go through this and that you will
have smiles in your heart every day.

You know I told my oncologist that I wouldn't go until God was ready for me
and if he cured me of cancer, but God still wanted me then I would be hit by
a car or something else... but that would be when God was ready for me, not
when the statistics thought I should go...

I don't know if you have read any books yet, but I would highly recommend
that you do and if I could tell you which one to read first, it would be "50
Essential Things to Do When the Doctor Says It Is Cancer", by Greg Anderson.
I didn't find it until about six weeks after surgery, but oh I wish I had
of..., the important thing was that I did find it and read it and it helped
me to alter my life..

There are many here who will be happy to help you as much as they can. I am
glad you have chosen to join us and I look forward to hearing from you and
helping in anyway that I can. God Bless you... Carla
