Grndtime,
Good morning and how are you feeling, I may be mistaking but I think it was
you who had the number for the "tahitian nani juice". My dear friend Carl is
extremely interested and asked me to find a distributor of this product. He
is stage four liver cancer and is getting ready for another bout of chemo. He
is finally convinced that he will beat with additional non traditional
treatment. Finally my hopes are picking up for him (thanks Ron).
I am very excited to be a part of this, although it is breaking my heart to
see him suffer, This is my way of fighting for him.
thank you and god bless, Keith

Subject: [MOL] Alternative methods or treatments - RESPONSE
Ross,
I am answering you, because you asked me, on the mol-forum, to answer some
questions. This is by way of information and discussion. It is not intended
to be a "sales pitch." Please accept this in the spirit in which you
intended. You have pondered this and researched a little, and now you have a
point of discussion that you bring up. Thank you for being considerate in
your remarks. I will try my best in response.
(If anyone other than Ross is reading this, please keep in mind that this
communication and discussion matter is in response to Ross's inquiry on the
mol forum. It is between Ross and myself. Do not read any further unless you
want to.).
I appreciate what you are saying, Ross. Actually, I agree with you. What the
problem is - is like the old saying about being in between a rock and a hard
place. Or damned if you do and damned if you don't.
The company maintains a policy of saying that "Morinda, Inc. and its
distributors make no curative claims about the product." Yes, Ross, that is
on all those statements you mention. And, yes I would add it ro the end of
the following that you refer to:
"To say 'That there is no miracle cure at this time ... in
alternative methods or
treatments,' is not a fair statement, in my opinion. And, in my opinion, and
those of scientific research, doctor statements and users of the Tahitian Noni
Juice, the polynesian miracle is now available, and has been since July 4,
1996."
Ross, I'm glad you got the monkey off your back and spoke up on this. There's
been enough argument and I truly appreciate it when you say you "can't help
but wag it in the wind and try to air it out...Doggone it. I don't want to
fight with anybody. Even if I live to be a hundred, life's too short for
that." So, Ross, I can appreciate where you are coming from. Especially when
you state that "at one point I heard I've got
a 50-50 chance of making it to 43, and much less of making it to 48."
The individual has to make the choices. Many doctors don't believe in any
alternative treatments. (This is a topic of another discussion.) Many
doctors are not fully aware of what some alternative treatments are all about.
So to many of them it is quackery. Sure enough there probably is enough quack
treatments here and there. There are also alternative treatments that just so
happen to work. Some better than others. Therefor, the individual patient
has to make a decision. Do you try something that might work, or not? What
validity is there to the claims made for the treatment or substance being
used? When someone's life is at stake, and you're searching for answers, what
do you do? That is a personal choice. A tough one. Really one, I believe,
that needs to be made with earnest praying to God. (Another topic for a later
discussion).
It is true that "Morinda, Inc. and its distributors do not make any curative
claims about the product." We're not God, and we're not doctors. I, Ross, am
entitled to an opinion, however. Do I believe in miracles? Do I believe it
cures cancer? Cure? There's too many variables to consider. How long has
someone had their condition, how involved is it, is cachexia involved and to
what degree? Also, each person's biochemistry is to be condidered.
Will Tahitian Noni Juice help? I certainly hope it does good for those who
decide to use this product. I strongly believe it will. In my opinion,
based upon information available to me through (1)scientific research,
(2)statements from doctors, and (3)statements from users who had/have
cancer...well...that's why I am here!!! I have consistently provided
examples of all three in past posts. I did not have to personally say what
was already said, instead, by these three sources.
Ross, please bear with me while we "wag it in the wind and try to air it out."
Another reason Morinda, Inc, and its distributors, of which I am one, do not
(in and of ourselves) make curative claims about the product is that this
product, Tahitian Noni Juice, is sold as a food. Therefor, how can we make
curative claims about a food? Furthermore, this product is now available in
five countries (USA, Canada, Jamaica, Costa Rica and Sweden). Ten other
countries are scheduled to come on board this year (Dominican Republic, El
Salvador, Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Norway, Finland,
Germany, Belgium, Tahiti, and Israel). And there is a lot of interest, in
this product, worldwide.
You know how these things work. Look how tough it has been to get approval
for the existing, Federal Drug Administration (FDA), National Cancer Institute
(NCI), American Medical Association (AMA ), approved drugs and treatments.
You are also aware of the battles being fought to get these, and other,
"alphabet soup" agencies to recognize several drugs and treatments that seem
to have positive benefits for cancer patients, but are not currently on the
"approved list." What regulatory agencies do these other countries have?
Some are even more stringent in their requirements than the USA, others a bit
less restrictive (eg: Germany).
Does the NCI know about Tahitian Noni Juice? I can assure you that they have
several cases of it being used in studies right now. As do other cancer
research facilities. What will become of those studies? How many years will
it be for any comment, if any? Well, again, reread the preceding paragraph.
Are some onocologists aware of this product? Yes, of course. Who are they?
Will they say anything? Hey, they have to live by the FDA, NCI and AMA rules,
regulations, guidelines and ethics. They belong to the club!! Will any of
them break rank and actually make a statement about Tahitian Noni Juice? Stay
tuned. Unfortunately, Ross, the clock ticks and pages are torn off the
calendar.
In the meantime, we have the powerful resources, in third party sources,
available such as the aforementioned (1)scientific research, (2)statements
from doctors, and (3)statements from users who had/have cancer. Examples
follow:
SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH:
You might be interested in a study reported in 1993 from a very reputable
laboratory in Kayo University in Yokohama, Japan. While searching for
substances that would induce a normal structure in abnormal K-ras-NRK cells
(pre-cancer cells - precursors to many malignant growths), four Japanese
scientists came across the substance damnacanthal found in the Morinda
citrifolia, or the noni plant. Ras cells were seeded into 96 plates and
incubated at 33 degrees centigrade for 24 hours. The noni plant extract was
added and the cell morphology was examined every day for five days.
Researchers observed that the damnacanthal significantly inhibited the ras
cells from reproducing. It is one of very few substances shown to actually
reverse cancer cell proliferation at the gene level. Out of 500 plant
extracts, M. Citrifolia (noni) contained the most effective compounds against
ras cells.
Tomonori Hiramatsu, Mayasa Imoto, Takashi Koyono, Umezawa, "Induction of
Normal Phenotypes in Ras-Transformed Cells by Damnacanthal from Morinda
citrifolia," Cancer Letters, Vol. 73, 1993
That study should be enough. It is hard to ignore its implications. But, I
can't resist. Here's one more:
(Before I get to it, let me point out something. Most (or all) mammals --
including dogs and cats -- have comparable DNA content and roughly the same
number of genes. Mice have been studied extensively, and even these very
different creatures have a nearly one-to-one correspondence with humans: A
particular mouse gene almost always has a human counterpart. The animals
differ because some of the corresponding genes differ in DNA sequence. Mice
have 70 percent to 90 percent of their gene structure in commin with humans.
That is why mice are used in laboratory testing.)
A later study conducted at the University of Hawaii showed similar positive
results regarding noni and its use as an anti-cancer agent. Researchers in
Hawaii reported that mice clinically infected with Lewis lung carcinoma (LLC)
and left untreated died within nine to twelve days. However, mice infected
with the same strain of LLC and then injected with an extract from noni juice
lived significantly longer. More than half (thirteen out of twenty two) of
the treated mice survived over fifty days, and four of those mice continued to
live. On average, the noni juice extract prolonged the life span of the
infected mice by 119 percent. The scientists concluded that the noni extract
acts as an inhibitor to the LLC infection by indirectly enhancing the
macrophages and lymphocytes activity in a mouse's immune system.

STATEMENTS FROM DOCTORS:
Dr. Mona Harrison, MD has a pretty impressive background in that she is a
former assistant dean of Boston University School of Medicine and former chief
medical officer for D.C. General Hospital, currently specializing in
Pediatrics and Family Medicine; Yelm, WA.
"One of my patients was suffering from kidney cancer with metastases, or the
movement of malignant cells, to her lung and brain. She had been given only
two weeks to live. Within that two-week period, she took noni juice and it
cleared up her lung lesions...Another patient had liver cancer and a swelling
of fluid in the abdominal area. After seven days on noni juice this ascitic
fluid cleared up completely. She and the first case I mentioned were
terminally ill cancer patients who no one anticipated would make it, but they
are alive today because of noni."
STATEMENTS FROM USERS WHO HAD/HAVE CANCER:
Bobbye Patterson wrote:
"Last year(1996) I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had six rounds of
chemotherapy and was in bed for a week after each treatment. Each time I
started to get better, it was time for another round of chemotherapy. I was
scheduled to have breast surgery a month after my last treatment.
My body was so weak that I didn't feel strong enough to even survive the
surgery. Then I heard about {Tahitian} noni {Juice} and started taking it a
week after my last treatment. I wanted to boost my immune system to get my
body ready for surgery.
It worked--when I went in for surgery, I had plenty of energy. I had a
bilateral mastectomy on the left side and a lateral one on the right, and I
came through it great. I was home by the third day!
I was feeling so good that I thought I had too much noni {juice} in my system
and should cut back a bit, but I was wrong. When I didn't take as much noni
{juice} as I needed, I felt like I was dragging. I started taking my normal
amount again and felt better in three or four days. Today, I still have a lot
of energy and feel clear-headed. I even finished all the ironing I hadn't
touched in almost a year.
I have a lot of friends drinking noni {juice} and they're just amazed at how
much better they feel. My stepdaughter's friend was diagnosed with cancer of
the lungs and throat and given twelve weeks to live. I gave her a case of
noni juice and a month later the doctor couldn't find any trace of the cancer.
We don't go anywhere without our noni. It's wonderful."
Dr. Scott Gerson, Foundation for Holistic Medical Research; Executive
Director, National Holistic Health Institute; Member, American Medical
Association; Family Physician, New York, New York; Currently teaches and
lectures at many medical schools; Researcher; Author; Medical Degree, Mt.
Sinai Medical School, New York, New York; Ayurvedic Medical Degree, India, has
said that:
"Tahitian Noni Juice has not been found to be harmful at any levels, nor for
any health conditions. Tahitian Noni Juice is the most important medicinal
herbal
product to come forth in the 21st Century."
Well, Ross, there is a two letter, ten word statement: "If it is to be, it is
up to me."
Only the person who looks in the mirror sees the image of the one who can make
that decision.
With love and caring,
Rich
