Todd,
Yes, there is always hope. You have found a good group (MOL) to help you
keep that hope with information, support, friendship and prayers. You will
be receiving more info on your dad's disease from other members here who are
much more knowledgeable than I on your dad's particular type of cancer. My
husband, Jim, has small cell lung cancer, but that is a completely different
type of illness than your mom. I will tell you that it is very important
that your mom is completely comfortable and has trust in her doctor. If she
does not, get a 2nd or 3rd opinion and keep going until she finds that
special doctor.
It is important that she be kept as stress free as possible and that she
(and you) have a positive outlook. There are so many things they can do for
cancer right now. There are also many alternative methods that she may wish
to look into in conjunction with her traditional treatments. Again, we have
many others in this group that are so much more knowledgeable about that
than myself. But if you have questions about it or anything else, ask.
Don't ever feel shy about asking questions to this group. You will either
get your questions answered or information about how to get those answers.
Also, if times get tough and you need support, a shoulder to lean on, or
just need to vent your feelings, we are here for you.
I will be praying for you and your mother.
Cindy
