Husband Joe was diagnosed in October, 97 with colon cancer with mets to
the liver, stage IV. No clue before he went for his physical and had a
low hematocrit. He has undergone nine treatments of 5FU/leukovorin.
The CATscan taken in Feb. shows an increase in the tumors. He started
taking shark cartilage 3000mgm/day three weeks ago. He is desperate,
depressed, searching and willing to volunteer for anything. He was also
told that he doesn't qualify for clinical trials due to the fact that he
has already undergone chemo. I have been reading about thalidomide and
hearing about it on TV. Is it available or under testing? Has it been
approved by the FDA? Is there anywhere Joe can go to try it?
