[MOL] Re: Essiac Tea/FYI

So many emails come via MOL that I often scan them and hope
to go back and review and follow up on leads offered by this
forum.
One of the things I was going to try to follow through on was
this tea I've seen bandying about online. Coincidentally, my
husband Bob (metastasized melanoma to brain, liver, lungs,
adrenals, some bone, etc.) was trying to get me to read some
literature and then asked me to please brew some of this tea he
had gotten due to this literature (I usually drive him, but this
time he was with his dad who was temporarily here from Richmond).
Bought at Sun Harvest Grocery Store*, so I didn't really focus on
this item.... Egotistical me, I sorta but him off... then
realized he had gotten THE tea... :)

I haven't read his lit, but I think I have some available...
would also invite other data re: this and other green teas or
whatever.

This tea's label:

CAMAS PRAIRIE TEA
Rene Caisse's Original Formula

Ingredients:
Organic Burdock Root (Arctium Lappa)

4 oz. makes 1 gal. /don't have to make it all at once
(you have to bring tea to boil, let simmer, stir, refrigerate for
12 hours, bring back to boil, have some hot if you want, put in
amber jar and refrigerate, will stay fresh for 2-3 weeks)

also on label...
" ...I was visiting Win Lambertson, Ph.D., at his Holmes Beach,
Florida home. The Lambertsons have been family friends since 1954
and they've watched our organic herb farming business grow. So
when Win, being a native Kenutckian, drawled "a phenomenon is
growing here among my friends. There's great interest in an her
tea blend formulated by Rene Caisse some years ago. It seems to
be very helpful, but is costs more than most people can bear, up
to $40 an ounce! You grow herbs, can't this formula be put
together right (and) at a reasonable price?"... Win gave me the
formula.
Among the ingredients in the formula were burdock, sheep
sorrel, and rhubarb, all safe, common plants, with the history of
use as food. Were are already growing them organically. The only
ingredient we didn't grow organically was Slippery Elm, a wild
tree needed for its bark.
All good intentions take time, but here it is! Now Rene
Caisse's original formula Herbal Tea is being produced from fine
ingredients affordably!
That's the story. Hope you like it, the organic quality, and
the price!
My best regards to you, Len (or Lon) Ball
"

Well, that's what's on this package... (and yes, I also heard
Essiac was Caisse spelled backwards, I think there's quite a
story there, but haven't read much about it yet.) Made some of
this tea and gave it to Bob same day I got the anti-nausea
prescription filled and started, and it just occurred to me,
could the tea also (and/or) been what has made such a difference
in Bob so quickly. (I wrote a previous email about how badly he
was and how quickly he responded in just one day...interesting)

*Sun Harvest is one of those stores that has organic produce and
lots of herbs, etc. another like it is Whole Foods as far as
Austin, TX, is concerned (I assume they have it, not sure) If you
can't find it, let me know and I'll try to help.

Sincerely,
Susan
