Your mom was right.  CBS, tonight, had that report.  The use of thalidomide
was banned in the US (when I was a mere child, of course) because of
children being born with  "flippers" instead of arms and legs.  It turns out
that thalidomide prevented the development of blood vessels required to
develop the limbs.  If it can prevent vessel development required for tumor
growth, then we've got a huge plus.  My husband's oncologist is certainly
going to hear about this tomorrow!
