Sally,
How frustrating your experiences these last few days must have been, and how
exhausted you must be.... For one thing it seems to me that Charlie might
be better off doing an in-patient stint at this point, rather than the
moving back and forth..then you could have a "home base", a cot, etc.
I was applauding when you said you wouldn't move from the nurses station
till he got hydration and painkillers. I was reminded of "Terms of
Endearment", when Shirley Maclaine went ballistic with the nurses to give
her daugter the pain medication on time. When I had my surgery in November,
I told my sister she had to be my Shirley Maclaine...
Your involvement and support of Charlie through this time is an incredible
gift that blesses both of you. You shouldn't have to be working so hard at
this, but I'm glad you are, and God Knows Charlie must be too.
Let's hope and pray week 7 brings a renewal, and that you have gotten some
rest in the meantime...
Love to you both,
Torie
